The Gold Pill Group was born from lived experience. What began as a personal journey to Ghana became a calling to help others rediscover Africa with clarity, confidence, and intention.
I was born in Jamaica and raised in Canada, with Africa always present in history — but distant in lived experience.
That changed with a single visit to Ghana.
From the moment I arrived, something settled in me. Even though I didn’t know the systems, the pace, or the way things worked, there was an unmistakable sense of grounding.
Ghana didn’t feel foreign. It felt familiar.
What stayed with me most was how I was received.
“In Africa, I wasn’t defined by my color. I was treated simply as a man – with dignity, respect, and humanity.”
Standing in places like the slave castles, I felt both the weight of history and the clarity of return. The comfort I felt wasn’t accidental — it was the result of coming home.
That first journey changed everything.
Today, The Gold Pill Group exists to guide members of the African Diaspora back to the continent — not as tourists, but as people seeking connection, grounding, and meaning.
Because once you feel Africa, you understand:
Home was never as far away as you were taught to believe.
– Chedwick Crieghtney
FOUNDER & CEO THE GOLD PILL GROUP
He brings approximately three decades of corporate leadership experience and more than 25 years of experience coaching leaders and organizations. His community leadership experience includes serving as Chair of the Caribana Arts Group board.
The Gold Pill Group began with business consulting and evolved into an enterprise connecting travel, business, diaspora engagement, and Africa.
Gold Pill’s founding purpose grew from Chedwick’s own experience in Africa, particularly Ghana, where he experienced a profound sense of cultural connection, belonging, and possibility.
That experience developed into a commitment to helping others in the African diaspora build meaningful relationships with the continent while also exploring the economic, educational, and institutional possibilities those relationships can create.
